What I've Been Up To

So its been 4 months since I got back from India and during that time, people keep asking when I’m going to update the blog…and by people I mean Lisa. So Lisa, even though you know what’s been going on in my life, here’s your update.

After I got back, it took a few weeks to get back in the swing of things and was able to enjoy the last bit of summer. There was sand volleyball, spending time with friends and family, Mexican and margaritas, the state fair, I-Cubs games and so much more.

A great day at Worlds of Fun

In August, my parents celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. We had a great weekend with the whole family including a party, s’mores, water balloon fight and lots of laughs. Our family’s a little bit crazy…but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

After multiple attempts, we get a nice family picture

Apparently I should have updated this more often because as I try to think of what I did in, I’m not really sure. I know there were some birthday celebrations, a few weddings, lots of hanging out with friends, lots of spending time with family, a little bit of work and just enjoying life. Man, that sounds cheesy.

Celebrating Laura's birthday with fighter helmets...is there any other way?

At the end of October, Mom, Dad and I loaded the car to head to Austin, TX to visit Wendy. We spent one night in Oklahoma City and went to the bombing memorial. Then we continued south to Austin. The weekend was spent going to College Station for the ISU/TX A&M football game, going to San Antonio for the riverwalk and the zoo and eating lots of delicious BBQ.

Now it’s the end of November and Thanksgiving. I’m not really sure where the time has gone. And I sound old saying that. I’m ok with that. I’ll try to do better about keeping this updated…but no promises.

For Lisa...

1. What were you doing ten years ago?

10 years ago, I was 17 and a senior in high school. Yikes, that takes me back. We would have finished the volleyball season and probably had just finished the fall play. That year it was Let’s Hang Him and Read the Will. Rochelle and I were going to $0.50 movies on Wednesday nights with a stop at Fazoli’s before to get pizza and then to Walmart to get snacks for the movie. I was trying to figure out where I was going to go to college and what to major in. But mostly I was having fun with my friends.

2. What are 5 things on your To-Do List?

Since its Thanksgiving, my top 5 includes
* Head up to the booming metropolis of Garden City to spend time with the fam
* Probably watch a movie. I think its about time Mom and Dad saw Up.
* Eat some delicious food…turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, pie…Mmmm
* Head back to DM for some late night/early morning shopping. Yup, I’m one of those crazy people that goes out at 3 am to get the “good” deals. Lisa apparently thinks we need costumes this year. Not sure what I think about that…
* Unfortunately I have to work on Friday but once the day is done, its time for the weekend full of family, friends, food, football and napping (there isn’t an F word for napping, I checked)

3. What are snacks you enjoy?

Oh goodness…I’ll limit the list cause otherwise we’ll be here all night.
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
Lisa’s Famous Monster Cookies (I’m not even putting an asterisk by this cause they really are famous. Plus she called my cheese dip famous)
Homemade Caramels…can’t wait to make those for Christmas
Kringla

4. What are 5 things you would do if you became a billionaire?

* Travel…anywhere and everywhere
* Share the wealth with my friends and family…well the ones I like anyway. J
* Shop
* Go sky diving with Hope. I need someone to hold my hand when jumping out of the plane.
* Pay off those pesky student loans. Apparently going to a private college means you are paying for it forever
